An Organic Matter

"Rice is a beautiful food. It is beautiful when it grows, precision rows of sparkling green stalks shooting up to reach the hot summer sun. It is beautiful when harvested, autumn gold sheaves piled on diked, patchwork paddies. It is beautiful when, once threshed, it enters granary bins like a (flood) of tiny seed-pearls. It is beautiful when cooked by a practiced hand, pure white and sweetly fragrant."
Shizuo Tsuji

Filipinos just love to eat rice. Breakfast, lunch, dinner it’s always there. It’s just like peanut butter and jelly; you can’t delectably eat it without the companion of the other.
On a personal note, I love eating it, as much as my father enjoys harvesting its crops. My father owns a farm in Valencia. Rice, being an essential part of a meal, is his main product. I could really feel the weight he gives to his farm; he always tries to look for the best possible ways that can make the production boost.

Last year he tried planting an alternative rice crop, that which is organic. Organic Rice Farming is a system of
crop cultivation that uses biological methods of fertilization and pest control as substitutes for chemical fertilizers and pesticides, which are regarded by supporters of organic methods as harmful to health and the environment and unnecessary for successful cultivation. (Britannica Concise Encyclopedia)

As the demand for organically grown agricultural products such as rice continues to grow, incentives for rice farmers to convert to organic farming methods are being implemented. Organic rice farming is an attractive option for the rice farmer because it allows them self-sufficiency, and
Organic rice farming frees up additional income for the farmer as purchasing expensive and soil-depleting chemicals is not part of the plan. This means that organic rice farmers will have enough money, as well as nutrient-rich soil to continue planting rice every season.

Organic farming in the city, regarded as the most progressive in the province of Bukidnon is going stronger. Well, for the Valencianos, there aiming to make Valencia City RP’s “organic rice capital”. More than 100 hectares are now planted with organic rice.

It’s a great thing that technology is not only frenzied for the benefit of the video game addicts, but also for those food enthusiasts, I myself included. And I would like to add that a champagne flavored broccoli is not a bad idea. (“,)
